The risk of flooding in my constituency is very high. 44 square miles of Somerset are below sea level. The Government is about to streamline the miriad advisory bodies that have sprung up to deal with flooding. Frankly its a muddle. Too many little bodies. Not enough clarity. Now I have managed to extract a firm Ministerial pledge that there will be more money for the Environment Agency and less doubling up by absurd little committees.
