The Girl Guides always have something to celebrate, but this year it is really special. Throughout the country there will be all manner of events to mark a hundred years of the Guiding movement. Guides do magnificent work and always have. I am very proud indeed to have been nominated as an ambassador for the Guides in West Somerset.
Fear not. This does not mean I have to wear their uniform or pretend to be anything like as fit or able. But it is an important part of my role to help promote this wonderful organisation. I was happy to escort fifty local Guides around the Palace of Westminster a while back. And the centenary celebrations have seen me on parade with the guides in Minehead, Watchet and Bridgwater.
